Time flies so fast, I can still remember from the time when we first celebrated the "Kabanhawan Festival". During Easter Sunday at the small town of Minglanilla, where Sugat Rise and was captured on every person who watch it.
Annually held every Easter Sunday. After the re-enactment there is a mass where Jesus and Mary would re-unite and "Sugat Festival" was born.
Now, its was developed more than what we expect and every year becomes so good and even the judges are confused during judgement and who will get the prize. The Governor of Cebu (Gwen Garcia) gave a funding to start the festival and expanded it to "Sugat Kabanhawan Festival".
From then, there are so many people just went to Minglanilla every Easter Sunday to celebrate to Sugat every 3 AM-5 AM at dawn and continuous event until 1PM where the street dancing of joyous contingent dance with there best costumes to showcase the festival.
As a part of the Metro Cebu, Minglanilla is located some 15 kilometers south of Cebu City, The town of Minglanilla is 30 minutes away from the city. You can ride a private vehicle, public bus or jeepney.
